Constitution and politics

Luxembourg is a constitutional monarchy, that means the virtual head of the state is the Grand-Duke, but the people, represented by the Chambre des Deputés , has the legislative power . The government is headed by the Prime Minister. In fact the amount of corruption is not higher (nor lower) than in other similar european countries

We have a lot of banks here in Luxembourg . One reason for it is that the taxes for the banking business are relatively low, that the political situation is stable and the banking secret for customers is well kept

Yes , we pay taxes here in Luxembourg. They are perhaps a little bit lower than in the neighbouring countries

The people

Luxembourg has about 400.000 inhabitants . 30 % of the residents are from other countries like Germany, Belgium, France and Portugal

The official language is not german nor french , it is "letzebuergesch". But to please our guests we are also able speak german, french and even english. A large majority of luxembourgers are bi - and trilingual

You should try "Ham am Stréih mat Saubounen an gebootschten Gromperen", a speciality from the north of Luxembourg or "Bouneschlupp" and even "Kachkéis" and "Kniddelen" At the banks of the Moselle you will find an excellent white wine and Luxembourg is famous for his beers
